Asset tracking across all locations, in transit and at the supplier
In automotive logistics, special load carriers, KLTs, tools and trailers travel across plant boundaries – from the tier 2 supplier through assembly and back into empties storage. Where any single carrier is right now is often anyone's guess. iot invent makes these cycles visible: Bluetooth tags on the load carrier, bulk capture at goods issue and goods receipt, plus worldwide positioning over 4G LTE for the legs between sites. The rtls cloud analyses the movement data and delivers idle-asset recommendations: which idle assets can be saved, and where.
Returnable item fleet
-
Special load carriers
Racks for body parts, doors or instrument panels – expensive, scarce and rarely all accounted for.
-
KLT small load carriers
High volumes in pool cycles: what matters here is inventory accuracy across every site.
-
Tools, components
Fixtures, gauges and bought-in parts that shuttle between plants and suppliers.
-
Vehicles, trailers
Trailers and swap bodies on the plant premises and on the road.
Container cycles
BLE container management across the full cycle: assign containers and hand them over to ERP/WMS, filling at the tier 2 supplier, bulk capture at goods issue and goods receipt, target-list reconciliation and inspection, empties management in kanban or assembly, washing and inspection. Substantial savings potential
-
Automation and control of supply chains
Bookings happen as items pass the capture points – no hand scanner, no list.
-
Real-time inventory
Stock figures are current at all times; counting campaigns and cut-off inventories are gone.
-
Reduced shrinkage
Missing containers show up immediately, not at the next count.
-
Smaller container fleet
Once you know the cycle times, fewer containers are needed – 30 % fewer assets on average.
